Vexadorians

Homeworld:  Vexador

Average lifespan:  80 years

Major Religion:  Christianity

Trademark:  colorful clothes, red hair

Vexadorians are non-Earth humans. A desert-dwelling people, they were inhabitants of a backwater planet for most of galactic history. Not until the past 200 years has Vexador risen to be a superpower of the Gorvan System.

This rapid explosion in technology came as a result of many people beginning to follow the teachings of "The Way." The religion had existed on Vexador for millennia with a small following. It derived its teachings from an obscure book that spoke of a distant world and a universal Savior. Vexador's hundreds of tribes began unifying upon this common ground of faith, coalescing into 5 major groups.

THE PEOPLE OF THE RIVER

Along Vexador's Global River dwell the Yvoric and the Hematuse, the first 2 groups. The Yvoric formed Syvoric City and are famous for their beautiful patterns. They also boast the largest number of redheads on the planet. The Hematuse have bright clothes and strong personalities, and they're steeped in tradition. They are the only modern people who still arrange marriages. While other ethnic groups called themselves Vexadorians first, the Hematuse are proud of their heritage as the desert's fiercest...and most feared...warriors.

THE PEOPLE OF THE SEAS

The Inxoti are the dominant people group of the Gakra Sea region. They're best known for wearing elaborate nets of beads on their heads and sporting long, flowing, simple garments.

THE PEOPLE OF THE DESERTS

Vexador's smallest group, population-wise, is the Dunesmen. They still practice ancient ways of life, often dwelling in tents or sunken huts. The men often wear nothing more than a loincloth, bandanna, hat, and cloak, while the women wrap themselves in loose, light saris. Some Dunesmen have modernized, and live in towns in the midst of the burning desert.

THE PEOPLE OF THE MOUNTAINS

The last ethnic group of Vexadorians are the Jaharil, from which the northern mountains get their name. The Jaharil bundle up in lots of layers and are the palest-skinned Vexadorians. Their square, multi-tiered hat is a cultural symbol. While much of Vexador braves intense heat, the Jaharil endure heavy snowfall. Their mountain homeland attracts countless tourists seeking escape from the heat. They're also quite wealthy, as they control Vexador's main water supply and only alpine forest.
